4 new agency clients in the past 2 years Aug 30, 2021

But I wouldn't call them 'regular' clients, as each of them accounts for a negligible part (albeit always appreciated) of my overall income:
1 one-off
1 came back 10 more times
1 came back 6 more times
1 came back once more

Of those, only two are likely to come back for more at some point.
I don't track projects I turn down.

With 21 jobs for 7500 euros total, I still rely on my installed client base for the major part of my earnings. I don

With 21 jobs for 7500 euros total, I still rely on my installed client base for the major part of my earnings. I don't see any of them becoming Tier 1 clients at present, but it's enough that they get a biggish new end customer or marcom agent in my street to reshuffle my main income sources with requests for website content, social campaigns, training material, video subtitles, press releases, sales brochures, technical doc, newsletters, reports, studies, sales pitches and everything a multinational company has to have translated these days to enter or remain in FR markets.

All my regular clients have been with me longer than two years (a very dear regular customer has been with me for over 25 years what makes me both proud and grateful). I have been working with 6 new clients (agencies and direct clients) in the last 2 years but I don’t expect them to become regular.

They come and go, and come back and leave again.

Looks like the Dutch weather.:-)

How much?? Maybe about one and a half slices, if I compact them all into one compressed block.

....Or the English weather. But despite it, I went for a hike yesterday. Not thinking (much) about translation.

Seems like an appropriate shot, given the state of affairs in our profession.

If only you could have zoomed in a bit closer....

This time the question is so poorly phrased it's impossible to give a meaningful answer. "Around 1-25%" - is that around 1%, or around 25%? What is a "new" client? Any client I acquired in the last two years, or something else? What are "regular" jobs"?

Pass.

I'm happy with my current client base. I haven't been taking jobs from agencies recently because their rates keep getting lower. I voted "none," but one of my new clients, a researcher in Brazil, has been referring his colleagues to me.

Much ado about definitions Aug 31, 2021

Define "new". I mean, there was a woman who contacted me last year, I billed work from her as a freelancer for the first time at that point. But I had previously translated for her company while working at the agency so is that really new? Then there was an agency that contacted me, and has come back for more since, that's part of the same group as another agency that gives me a lot of work. Is that really a new client?
